Why do I have fine, dull hair?
There are two types of fine hair, fine hair by genetics and thinning hair:
- Fine hair: hair that has a fine diameter by nature
- Hair that is thinning: it is a hair that is losing its original diameter
They have several causes:
- External factors: stress, UVs, pollution, chemicals, heating devices, smoking
- Internal factors: age, hormones and diet
How to remedy it?
Fine hair:
There are certain products that add volume to the hair, to add substance.
Choose short cuts to add volume.
Giving movement and bringing waves to the hair brings an illusion of volume and mass. If your hair is curly, do not straighten it.
Thinning hair:
- Avoid unnecessary stress
- Eat a balanced diet
- Try to reduce sources of external aggression
- Have a blood test with your doctor
- Take vitamin cures or food supplements if the blood test shows deficiencies
Do’s and don’ts
DO:
- Treat your hair gently
- Part your hair to the side and change sides to add volume
DON’T:
- Do not use oils or butters that are too heavy, such as castor oil or shea butter.
- Avoid making braids that are too heavy or too tight
- Avoid unnecessary stress
- Avoid coloring or bleaching because this will further thin the hair
